That is a really beautiful dress! You should check out some Japanese craft/sewing books - they always seem to have patterns that are a bit like this (I'll send you some links, if you'd like)- I guess it's just getting the time to actually sew something!

i like the dress you chose but i also have fallen in love with the "hemp wrap cap sleeve" too. it has a sort of kimono feel to it. looks like they have a store on tecumseh...we should go try dresses on and then kicked out of the fancy store because we are broke...sort of like a scene from "pretty woman". heh heh

OH MY GOD, that would be so much fun, Krissy!! I wonder where we could find skanky Pretty Woman outfits to wear during our trip? Hmmm...

I love the hemp wrap dresses too, but the silk part made me sad.

I think I might actually be able to justify buying one of these... if I don't eat for a little while...

Hey - I'm going to be in Fergus all weekend. You said you're from Guelph, right?

oh, that sounds fun! i love that dress. weird, i'm in a mood (and i'm not sure if it's lately or if i always felt that way) where i get turned off by expensive things. like i get an "eww" feeling from something that costs too much. it's strange but helpful. but trying them on with no intention to buy sounds totally fun. i remember trying on prom dresses with my friends in 6th grade and taking pictures with our le clic cameras in the dressing rooms! we didn't get kicked out -- they humored us, actually.

just the other day (well, maybe it was a month or so ago) i got treated poorly at a store and thought to myself about saying "you work on commission, right? you made a big mistake. big. HUGE!"

hope you're having a fun weekend!
