Midweek Munchies:

What Mishka is contributing for the week

This is not mid-week... but it's my first Midweek Munchies contribution and I'm going shopping in the morning. We're having company for dinner tomorrow night...

for Saturday's pasta dinner:
canned tomatoes
spaghetti sauce
tomato paste
loaf of Ace Bakery bread
fresh basil
spaghettini
mushrooms
green and red peppers
garlic

for Saturday's mousse dessert:
silken tofu
semi-sweet chocolate chips
fresh raspberries
some sort of tea cookie, if I can find a vegan one

the rest:
sodium-free club soda
apple cider
coke zero (for the boy)
carrots
red cabbage (I'm on a cabbage salad kick)
firm tofu
refried black beans
whole wheat pita
dijon mustard

Not a good thing to read while I'm starving, but the "finishing up the tomato sauce" pizza's in the oven so I should be ok! I'm in charge of the vegan dessert for a dinner party (of non-vegans) tomorrow. I actually thought of mousse [pie, since I've got an easy recipe from The Garden of Vegan] but I was thinking I'll probably make cookies (though I don't know which kind or maybe lots). Good luck finding the tea cookie you like and have fun tomorrow!

This is a great list! Thanks for participating! Is your Dijon Mustard vegan? If so, which brand? Most of the ones I have seen have honey or even DAIRY in it! WOW!

Did you find the tea cookies?

Those meal intentions sound great!!! Will you be posting pics?

Sadly, I didn't take pictures of dinner. But it was fabulous... very tasty. I'll post about the evening later today :)

The dijon I use is a store-brand horseradish dijon (President's Choice from Loblaw's) and it is definitely vegan... though not as spicy as I like :) I usually end up adding cayenne or hot sauce when I use it. I like the spicy!

The cookies I bought were "Simple Pleasures Lemon Social Tea". I used to love their Almond cookies but they started adding milk ingredients and touting "A source of Calcium!" on their label. Grrr.....
